Strategy and advisory support
Navigating conflicts in conservation can perplexing and daunting, and can benefit greatly from and impartial specialist perspective and support. This may involve specialist help in analysing a situation, such as mapping out the positions, interests, relationships and power dynamics of the parties involved, and identifying underlying histories, identities and issues that are preventing a mutually agreeable solution.

Analysis and training: In-house discussions or workshop with team of one of several organisations to analyse issues, map stakeholders and dynamics. In-house training, tailored, expanded or condensed versions of the Negotiating Coexistence course

Strategy and coaching: Planning ways forward; conflict resolution strategy support, design of stakeholder dialogue processes, shuttle facilitation, identification of suitable mediation options, shadow facilitation of third-party support

Monitoring and research: Observer monitoring of processes, early warning signs identification, participatory risk mapping, develop a continuation plan. Prior or accompanying social research, monitoring and evaluation of process
Such coaching support entails developing strategies for engaging constructively and strategically with conflict, determining whether third party mediation is needed, and mapping out a way forward that is appropriate for the level of conflict.
